Position Summary

Excel Distribution LLC. is seeking a skilled Grocery Distribution Driver to join our team. This role is responsible for delivering groceries and/or dairy products to our customers in and around the Houston, TX area.

The driver will be responsible for managing the loading and unloading of products, ensuring timely delivery, and maintaining a safe and clean operating condition of assigned vehicles and equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver excellence in customer service by building long-term relationships with customers.
  • Responsible for maintaining assigned vehicles and equipment in a clean and safe operating condition.
  • Ensure all necessary licenses and documentation are up to date.
  • Inspect trucks and report any issues to management.
  • Loading and unloading cargo at distribution warehouses in an organized, clean, and accurate manner.
  • Meet delivery deadlines and be prepared to unload cargo promptly.
  • Meet with store managers or designated personnel to deliver invoices.
  • Verify order details and obtain customer signatures on delivery tickets.
  • Make adjustments and collect payments as needed.

Requirements:

  • Fluency in Spanish and English is required.
  • Valid driver's license (Class B) with a minimum of 1 year of experience.
  • At least 6 months of experience working as a box truck driver.
  • Familiarity with distribution center terms and processes.
  • Ability to follow directions and navigate with local maps and GPS.
  • Basic math skills are necessary.
  • Clear MVR check is required.
  • Minimum age of 21 is required.

Working Conditions:

  • Treat all customers with courtesy and respect.
  • Able to repetitively lift and carry boxes weighing up to 50 lbs. for the duration of the shift.
  • Must be capable of standing, walking, and squatting for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to work in a non-climate controlled environment.
  • Regularly work weekends, holidays, and overtime is required.
