The American Red Cross is currently seeking a Senior Philanthropy Partner to enhance support for the Northern California Coastal Region.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. This role will execute the comprehensive fundraising strategy for a designated major donor portfolio of approximately 35 contributors, aiming to generate over $3M for the Pacific Division of the Red Cross.

2. Oversee and cultivate individual and family foundation major donor accounts and complex donor solicitations, which includes:

  • Securing significant contributions ranging from $1M to $5M.
  • Managing systems and software to monitor and nurture donors and prospects, including our donor database and wealth screening tools.
  • Developing and implementing moves management plans.
  • Conducting direct, face-to-face solicitations and assisting other staff with their solicitations (e.g., providing portfolio development support, strategic advice, and assistance with donor communications).
  • Recognizing major donors through both public and private acknowledgment.
  • Tracking and reporting progress using specific metrics.

3. Enhance the capacity to identify, cultivate, and solicit major donors by offering educational, technical, and programmatic support.
4. Support the Red Cross Women in Philanthropy initiative as part of portfolio expansion, providing guidance and mentorship to the division team on growing this group of donors.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR SUCCESS (Minimum Requirements):

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field is required.
  • A minimum of 7 years of experience in fundraising and/or sales leadership or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Extensive knowledge of fundraising and/or sales principles and techniques in large organizations is essential. A proven track record in securing large funding amounts is necessary. A valid driver's license and a good driving record are required.
  • Management Experience: Not applicable.
  • Skills & Abilities: Exceptional organizational, collaborative, analytical, presentation, and communication (interpersonal, oral, and written) skills. Strong project management capabilities and the ability to meet deadlines. Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel. Familiarity with fundraising database systems (e.g., Raiser's Edge). Ability to work effectively within a team.
  • Travel: 25-40% business travel may be required.


* A combination of the candidate's education and general experience satisfies requirements as long as the total years meet the minimum education and experience years combined (Management experience cannot be substituted).

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:

The salary range for this position is $150K - $170K.
