Job Summary:

The City of New York is seeking a highly skilled Assistant Project Engineer to join our team in the Office of Green Infrastructure and Cloudburst (GI) Design and Construction. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for contract plan review, soil subsurface analysis, and review of geotechnical reports and as-builts for green infrastructure citywide.

Responsibilities:

* Conduct field inspections for Green Infrastructure and prepare and submit reports to the Project Engineer, Section Manager, Deputy Director, and Director.

* Perform desktop analysis using AutoCAD and/or ArcGIS software to analyze tributary areas and contract area boundaries for Green Infrastructure.

* Perform field visits during design and geotechnical investigations.

* Review geotechnical reports, contract plans and as-builts.

* Coordinate with Project Managers regarding contract progress.

* Perform inspection audits to measure contractor's performance during construction of green infrastructure projects.

* Perform enforcement of compliance with the DEP sewer use regulations.

Requirements:

* A Baccalaureate degree in environmental, chemical, mechanical, petroleum, aeronautical, or materials engineering from an accredited college.

* Strong MS Office skills, including Excel, PowerPoint, and ability to comprehend maps, graphs, and tables.

* Basic AutoCAD, GIS and ArcGIS knowledge is helpful for this job function.
