Job Summary

Unity Health Care is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clinical Nurse, RN - Nurse Manager to join our team. As a key member of our nursing leadership team, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and evaluating nursing processes to ensure quality care and positive patient flow.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with the health center management team to ensure quality care is provided.
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate nursing processes to ensure quality of care while promoting positive patient flow.
  • Assist the Medical Director and Health Center Director in developing, implementing, and evaluating quality improvement functions.
  • Provide supervision to the RN, LPN, MA, NA at the health center.
  • Coordinate daily, weekly, monthly schedules and assignments of the nursing staff.
  • Manage the new nurse employee site orientation.
  • Manage the annual competency assessment.
  • Provide on-going performance evaluations of nursing staff.
  • Work with the Triage nurse to ensure appropriate disposition of patients with urgent needs.
  • Manage the nursing patient flow to ensure it adheres to the established time frame.
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate educational offerings for nursing staff.
  • Provide direct patient care as appropriate to ensure smooth operation of the health center.
  • Coordinate the Vaccine Program for the Health Center.
  • Coordinate lab functions at the health center.
  • Oversee the daily and weekly clinical log checks.
  • Manage the floor stock medication at the Health Center.
  • Manage the annual emergency training (in collaboration with Medical-Clinical Leadership).
  • Serve as the on-site nursing liaison for EMR.
  • Manage the annual infection control competency assessment.
  • Function as the nursing liaison to other departments, services, and outside agencies on behalf of the health center.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing (BSN preferred).
  • Licensed or eligibility as RN in DC.
  • Current CPR certification.
  • Two (2) years of management experience.
  • Three (3) years of recent clinical experience in medical surgical, emergency care, ICU or urgent care preferred.
