Key Responsibilities:
- Product Development: Support the development of apparel and accessories, ensuring they meet our brand's standards for quality, fit, and style.
- Vendor Management: Collaborate with vendors to ensure timely delivery of finished goods, manage product development and sourcing, and identify new vendors to expand our network.
- Cost Negotiation: Effectively negotiate costs with vendors to ensure we achieve our business goals.
- Problem-Solving: Lead problem-solving efforts for product development challenges, utilizing critical thinking skills to make informed decisions.
- Process Improvement: Establish new processes to enhance productivity and efficiency, ensuring our team is working at optimal levels.
- Quality Control: Review prototypes for accuracy in fabric, color, quality, and workmanship, and provide style-related feedback and cost and timeline information.
- Communication: Manage email communications and vendor interactions efficiently, maintaining accurate communication and tracking with vendors.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's Degree in Textile, Apparel Design, or Product Development.
- Experience: Minimum of 10-15 years of experience in apparel product development, with a strong understanding of fabric, fit, and function.
- Skills: Expertise in materials and techniques such as knits, wovens, denim, seamless, and full fashion knits, with experience in import development and women's apparel product development.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in garment construction and patternmaking techniques, with proficiency in Microsoft Office and Adobe Suite (CLO experience is a plus).
- Soft Skills: Strong organizational, analytical, and critical thinking skills, with excellent written and oral communication skills, and the ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively.
