We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Housekeeping Associate to join our team at Eaton Rapids Medical Center. As a Housekeeping Associate, you will play a critical role in maintaining a clean and safe environment for our patients, visitors, and staff.

Key Responsibilities

  • Cleaning and Sanitation
    • Clean patient rooms, bathrooms, and all other hospital areas and departments in accordance with department procedures and quality standards.
    • Clean and maintain all carpets and hard floor surfaces.
  • Waste Management
    • Identify and properly dispose of regular, contaminated, and recyclable waste.
  • Equipment Maintenance
    • Clean and maintain all housekeeping equipment.
  • Compliance and Safety
    • Follows housekeeping policies and procedures for mixing of chemicals, use of personal protective equipment (PPE), and handling of infectious waste.
    • Demonstrate proper body mechanics when lifting or moving materials.
    • Demonstrate proper handwashing and other infection control techniques.
    • Attend all required inservices, including Infection Control, safety, and scheduled department staff meetings.
  • Communication and Teamwork
    • Accept and perform all job duties as assigned, facilitating changes in schedule when necessary.

Requirements

  • Education
    • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Certifications
    • BLS (Basic Life Support) required within 90 days of hire and maintained throughout employment.
  • Skills
    • Ability to complete DOT Hazardous Materials competency.
