Overview:
National Wire, a family-owned welded wire manufacturing company established in 1995, is recognized as one of the largest producers in the southern United States. Our commitment lies in exceeding customer expectations through exceptional quality and service.
The Production Supervisor role is crucial in assisting maintenance teams with troubleshooting, repairs, and retrofitting processes, ensuring these tasks are completed safely, efficiently, and accurately. Responsibilities encompass daily production activities, employee scheduling, sanitation, quality assurance, performance standards maintenance, and collaboration with the Human Resource Department for temporary labor procurement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Foster effective working relationships across all employee levels within the organization.
- Develop and implement the Daily Production Schedule to guide the manufacturing team's daily activities and coordinate with human resources for additional temporary staffing.
- Ensure appropriate employee scheduling to meet daily manufacturing operations.
- Oversee completion of all sanitation tasks and adherence to safety protocols.
- Exhibit strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and guidelines.
- Supervise daily operations to guarantee efficient, safe, and standard-compliant employee performance.
- Manage employee training, evaluations, hiring recommendations, promotions, raises, and disciplinary actions.
- Collaborate closely with production staff and assist with breaks as needed.
- Enforce adherence to company policies among all employees.
- Provide feedback for continuous improvement and conduct annual performance reviews.
- Monitor workflow and identify efficiency issues, offering suggestions for enhancement.
- Request necessary repairs to ensure safe equipment operation.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
- Comply with state and federal laws, the Company Quality Program, and safety and environmental regulations.
Requirements and Skills:
- Minimum of 5 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing setting.
- Strong communication and conflict resolution abilities.
- Leadership training experience.
- Familiarity with Global Shop or similar ERP systems.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
- Experience with OEE Reports.
- Knowledge of the 5S methodology.
- Understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles.
- Ability to adapt to a dynamic work environment and manage frequent changes.
- Basic math skills for material fabrication calculations.
Preferred Skills and Qualifications:
- Experience with continuous improvement initiatives.
- Knowledge of safety protocols and procedures.
Work Hours:
- Monday through Friday
- 6 AM – 6 PM
- Occasional overtime and weekend work may be required.
Salary: Based on experience.
