Job Summary

Optum is a global organization that delivers care, aided by technology to help millions of people live healthier lives. We are seeking a highly skilled Implementation Project Manager to drive the work associated with assigned project areas.

This role will provide project management vision and oversight for assigned project areas, holding vendors and state resources accountable for delivery commitments. The successful candidate will have a solid technical background, with experience in mainframe and cloud platforms, and a proven ability to work independently and with a team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide project management vision and oversight for assigned project areas
  • Hold vendors and state resources accountable for delivery commitments
  • Oversee and maintain cross-vendor and state activities related to testing
  • Recommend strategies for optimizing or enhancing business operations related to assigned project areas
  • Provide weekly status reports to the Executive Project Manager, including any issues or risks identified
  • Work with Project Manager and Project Scheduler to monitor project timelines
  • Initiate remediation reminders and follow-up if timeline slips
  • Document and distribute meeting minutes according to established timeframe

Requirements:

  • 6+ years of experience as a large system PM with technical background
  • 5+ years of Medicaid experience
  • 3+ years of large systems implementation experience
  • Solid technical experience in mainframe and cloud platforms
  • Technical expertise in design, development, coding, testing, and debugging of software
  • Proven ability to work both independently and with a team, including multiple vendors
  • Ability to travel up to 25% as needed

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of testing management experience
  • 5+ years of implementation planning experience
  • 5+ years of training management experience
  • 3+ years of third-party liability experience
  • 3+ years of claims processing experience
