About the Position

The City of Carlsbad, CA is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Lifeguard to join our team. As a Lifeguard, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and well-being of our community members while they enjoy our aquatic facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Observe and monitor the activities of swimmers in and around our public pools to prevent accidents and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
  • Rescue individuals in distress and provide first aid as needed.
  • Maintain a safe and clean environment by enforcing pool rules and regulations.
  • Provide excellent customer service and respond to inquiries about our aquatic facilities and programs.
  • Participate in special events and assist with the maintenance of our aquatic facilities.
Requirements
  • CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer (CPR-FPR) certification.
  • Lifeguard Training certification.
  • Ability to swim with proficiency and endurance.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • One year of experience as a lifeguard.
  • Title 22 Certificate.
  • EMR Certificate.
  • EMT Certificate.
