Safe Harbor Program Facilitator

Under the direction of the Ambulatory Nurse Manager, the Safe Harbor Staff Facilitator will lead session activities, conference with parents/guardians, support volunteers, and oversee the successful operation of the program.
Key Responsibilities- Interact with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with the values of Jefferson.
- Meet all standards of the Patient Satisfaction Initiative Criteria.
- Act as lead facilitator for Safe Harbor support groups to provide bereavement support to participants.
- Perform administrative tasks, including welcoming new families, collecting paperwork, and mentoring new volunteers.
- Plan and structure Safe Harbor Support Group Sessions to address the grieving needs of participants.
- Follow up with families when additional resources are requested or when volunteers have concerns about child/children in group.
- Create specific activities for children, teen, and caregiver groups to meet grief needs.
- Work as an integral part of the Safe Harbor staff team and attend monthly staff meetings.
- Assist in planning and running Camp Charlie.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Education: Associates Degree in Social Work, counseling, psychology, education, or human services related field required. Music therapy or expressive arts experience preferred.
Experience: Minimum two years' experience in group facilitation, bereavement, or behavioral health support, volunteer program experience to include team development required. Music therapy and/or expressive arts experience preferred.
Minimum Certifications, Registration or License Requirements: Valid Driver's License. Current auto insurance with proof of coverage required. Must possess a driving record free from major violations within the past five years and maintain an acceptable driving record.
Conditions of EmploymentSince this position requires regular contact with children, the selected candidate must meet the requirements of the Child Protective Services Act, including a Pennsylvania State Police criminal background check, Pennsylvania Department of Welfare child abuse criminal background clearance, and an FBI fingerprint-based federal criminal records check.
Covid Vaccination is a requirement for employment at Jefferson for employees working at Jefferson's clinical entities or at the University.
