We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Laboratory Specialist to join our team at Northwell Health. As a key member of our laboratory team, you will be responsible for performing a variety of routine and complex laboratory tests and procedures, maintaining equipment and records, and ensuring quality assurance activities.
Key Responsibilities- Set up and perform laboratory tests and procedures, including preparing and testing specimens for examination and reporting results.
- Follow established quality control procedures, including recording data and performing routine and preventive maintenance on laboratory equipment.
- Troubleshoot technical problems and methodologies, and maintain sufficient supplies at workstations.
- Ensure quality control and assurance activities, and use infection control practices and procedures.
- Perform related duties as required.
- High School Diploma or equivalent, required. Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology or related field, preferred.
- Licensed by New York State Education Department as a Clinical Laboratory Technologist, required.
- Minimum of one year work experience and/or training specific to the work being done in the area noted above, required.
The salary range and/or hourly rate listed is a good faith determination of potential base compensation that may be offered to a successful applicant for this position at the time of this job advertisement and may be modified in the future.
