Overview:
As a key member of the Wood Truss department, the Wood Truss Fabricator is tasked with the assembly of pre-cut wooden trusses, ensuring compliance with specifications in a safe and efficient manner to fulfill customer requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
Foster a culture of safety, prioritizing the well-being of employees, contractors, and visitors.
Understand and adhere to safety and emergency protocols as necessary.
Utilize assembly tools and equipment responsibly to construct wooden trusses in accordance with customer specifications, while maintaining quality standards.
Complete all assigned daily tasks.
Maintain a tidy work environment and prepare workstations throughout the shift.
Perform housekeeping and workstation preparation tasks before the end of the shift.
Regularly conduct preventative maintenance on machinery as per training guidelines.
Identify and report machine malfunctions or issues to the immediate supervisor.
Update and maintain department visual tracking metrics boards.
Participate in cross-training for various roles within the department.
Assist in achieving and surpassing departmental and plant objectives related to safety, quality, waste reduction, and operational excellence.
Execute additional duties as assigned.
Skills and Experience Requirements:
Ability to:
Effectively use and maintain all personal protective equipment (PPE).
Read and write proficiently.
Communicate effectively with team members.
Interpret measurements using a tape measure, operate a mallet and/or pneumatic staple gun, and read blueprints.
Maintain a reliable attendance record.
Follow instructions and adhere to technical and multi-step directives.
Work in various weather conditions, both indoors and outdoors.
Function independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
Work safely, remain composed, and make informed decisions in a dynamic environment.

Preferred Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED.
Prior experience in a related field, including forklift operation and/or manufacturing.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand for extended periods.
Routine lifting of up to 50 lbs (occasional lifting of up to 60 lbs).
Frequent to occasional lifting, bending, squatting, kneeling, reaching, twisting, pushing, and pulling.
