The Facility Maintenance Specialist plays a crucial role in supporting the Director of Physical Plant Operations to ensure the optimal condition of the facility campus. This position emphasizes safety and quality in all maintenance activities.
Key Responsibilities:
• Conducts thorough inspections of all facility areas to identify and resolve issues.
• Executes scheduled maintenance tasks in line with the established maintenance plan.
• Oversees the upkeep of HVAC systems, including individual units, centralized systems, chillers, towers, air handlers, boilers, and heaters.
• Maintains kitchen equipment such as ice machines, refrigeration units, cooking ranges, ventilation systems, and dishwashers.
• Ensures the functionality of lighting, electrical, and plumbing systems, as well as laundry machinery.
• Available for on-call and emergency maintenance as necessary.
• Keeps the maintenance workspace and tools organized and clean; ensures the proper functioning of all drainage and sump systems.
• Promotes the correct use of safety gear and equipment.
• Monitors and performs basic operations and maintenance of fire, alarm, and security systems.
• Cleans vents and light fixtures as required; maintains cleanliness of kitchen ventilation hoods.
• Engages in ongoing painting and wall repairs.
Additional Duties:
• Undertakes other related responsibilities as directed by the Director of Physical Plant Operations.
• May involve working evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
• Provides assistance to housekeeping staff when required.
• Aids in sourcing quotes for necessary supplies and equipment.
• Assists in the procurement and inventory management of maintenance supplies.
• Contributes to maintaining the facility's compliance with inspections and regulatory standards.
