Role Overview: The RN Clinical Supervisor for Critical Care Services is responsible for ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care by acting as a vital resource for staff, patients, and their families.
Key Responsibilities:
- Facilitates coordination of patient care across various departments.
- Assesses the effectiveness of staff and unit performance.
- Reviews current clinical data, gathers additional information, and makes recommendations for further data collection.
- Selects, assembles, and verifies all equipment utilized in respiratory care.
- Implements, conducts, and adjusts prescribed therapeutic and diagnostic procedures.
- Maintains accurate patient records and shares pertinent information with the healthcare team.
- Acts as the 'team leader' during assigned shifts to ensure the delivery of quality care.
- Engages in ongoing professional development.
- Promotes a positive image of the department and personal professionalism.
- Provides age-appropriate care to all patients.
Reporting Structure: Reports directly to the Director.
Minimum Education: Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
Required Skills: This position demands critical thinking abilities, decisive judgment, and the capacity to work independently in a high-pressure environment.
Competencies:
- Moderate Sedation
- Demonstrated leadership, management, and problem-solving skills.
- Effective teaching and communication abilities.
- Capacity to foster and maintain strong interpersonal relationships within the healthcare team.
Licensure Requirements:
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification to be obtained within 30 days.
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification to be obtained within 6 months.
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification to be obtained within 6 months.
- Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) certification to be obtained within 6 months.
Experience: A minimum of five (5) years of nursing experience, including at least one (1) year in a nursing management role.
