Radon Mitigation Specialist

We are seeking a highly motivated Radon Mitigation Specialist to join our team at Midwest Radon Services. As a key member of our crew, you will be responsible for installing radon mitigation systems in residential and commercial settings.

Key Responsibilities:

• Drill, cut, and patch concrete as necessary for system installation.
• Crawl space encapsulation to prevent moisture infiltration.
• Sump pump replacement and sealing of sump pit covers to ensure proper system operation.
• Install and repair wiring and electrical components on radon fans.
• Assemble, install, and repair pipes, fittings, and fixtures of radon systems.

In addition to these responsibilities, you will also be expected to:

• Read and follow plans, instructions, or specifications to determine work activities.
• Work effectively with a crew or individually to complete assigned tasks.
• Properly use power tools, work safely off ladders, and navigate attics and crawlspaces.
• Measure, mark, or record openings or distances to layout areas where construction work will be performed.
• Mix, pour, spread, smooth, and finish concrete or cement as needed.
• Apply caulking compounds by hand or with a caulking gun to seal crevices.
• Possess electrical skills including measuring, cutting, bending, threading, assembling, and installing electrical conduit.
• Splice wires by stripping insulation from terminal leads, twisting or soldering wires together, and applying tape or terminal caps.
• Connect wiring to lighting fixtures and power equipment.
• Connect power cables to equipment.
• Test continuity of circuit to ensure electrical compatibility and safety of components.
• Observe the functioning of installed equipment or system to detect need for adjustments, relocation, or replacement.
• Repair faulty equipment or systems.
• Possess plumbing skills including inspecting structure to ascertain obstructions to be avoided to prevent weakening of structure resulting from pipe installation.
• Locate and mark position of pipe and pipe connections and passage holes for pipes.
• Cut openings in walls and floors, as needed, to accommodate pipe and pipe fittings.
• Assemble and install valves, pipe fittings, and pipes.
• Join pipes by use of screws, bolts, fittings, solder, plastic solvent, and caulks joints.
• Create negative pressure in piping and read pressure gauges to determine whether system is leaking or has proper pressure.

The estimated salary for this position is between $50,000 and $70,000 per year, depending on experience.
