Dog Groomer Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Dog Groomer to join our team at Baxters Playhouse LLC. As a dog daycare and boarding facility, we provide a safe and comfortable environment for dogs to be groomed.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide a safe and comfortable environment for dogs to be groomed.
• Communicate effectively with dog owners at drop-off and pick-up, providing necessary feedback about the groom and/or dog during the visit.
• Expected to communicate with customers about difficult matters such as matting, and behavioral issues in a kind, non-demeaning manner.
• Responsible for maintaining a clean and organized grooming room, cabinets, drawers, crates, floors, groom table, and tub.
• Expected to learn and utilize Gingr software.
• Take proper notes for each dog and their cuts.
• Follow safety procedures for pets and staff.
• Perform groom functions as requested by the client and provide an attractive pet style that meets client's expectations and is appropriate for the pet.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 6-months of dog grooming experience in a professional setting.
• Grooming certification strongly preferred and/or equivalent experience.
• Strong knowledge of individual breed standards and breed cuts.
• Use of proper scissoring techniques.
• A passion for animals and animal care, especially dogs.
• Willing to learn about dog behavior to ensure their safety.
• Focus on safe and gentle handling.
• Reliable, punctual, and dependable.
• Comfortable communicating with customers.
• Strong customer service skills.
• Enjoy working with both humans and dogs.
• Physically able to handle dogs of all sizes.
• Strong attention to detail - both in communication and in grooming.
