Job SummaryWe are seeking a skilled Excavation Operator to join our team. As an Excavation Operator, you will be responsible for executing general construction laborer duties, including excavation and hand excavation of contaminated soils, operating manual and mechanical clearing equipment, and performing various manual tasks.

- Participate in a drug-free workplace environment with a random drug testing program.
- Contribute to a safety culture that promotes Incident and Injury Free Performance.
- Assist with excavation and/or hand excavation of contaminated soils.
- Perform various manual duties, including operating equipment, directing traffic, and general housekeeping.
- Read and comply with Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) accompanying chemicals present at the hazardous waste site.
- Execute tasks from detailed written and oral instructions.
- Use hand-held mobile radio units to coordinate tasks and resources.
- Read and comply with safety plans, rules, maintenance instructions, training manuals, MSDS's, warning tags, traffic signs, and procedure manuals.
- Perform additional assignments and special projects as directed.
- High School Diploma/GED.
- Five plus years of construction laborer experience (Laborer 1), two plus years (Laborer 2), or one plus year (Laborer 3) of construction laborer experience.
- Valid Driver's License.
- TWIC card holder preferred.
- Preferred safety training includes 40 Hour HAZWOPER, Competent Person Safety Training, 8-Hour Supervisory Training, 30-Hour OSHA Construction Safety Training, and First Aid and CPR.
The Excavation Operator will work in a job site environment, including machines, tools, heavy equipment, chemicals, solvents, dust, fumes, noise, toxic materials, waste, and infectious materials. The position requires occasional exposure to extreme weather conditions and the ability to maintain physical condition appropriate to the performance of assigned duties and responsibilities.
