Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Adjunct Librarian to join our team. The successful candidate will provide reference service to library patrons, information literacy instruction to individuals and classes, and assist in maintaining the catalog. Additionally, they will help with library publicity, collection maintenance, and interlibrary loan services. The ideal candidate will have a Master's degree in Library Science from an ALA-accredited institution and excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Key Responsibilities- Provide reference service to library patrons, including conducting reference interviews and assisting with research.
- Develop and deliver information literacy instruction to classes, including coordinating with faculty and implementing accommodations for students with disabilities.
- Assist with library publicity, including developing information materials and creating exhibits.
- Maintain the catalog, including cataloging new materials and suggesting titles to add to or deselect from the collection.
- Participate in library routines, including assisting with the development and revision of library policies and procedures, and helping to compile data for internal and external reports.
- Participate in professional development, including staying current on research and technologies in assigned specialties and participating in professional growth activities.
The successful candidate will have a Master's degree in Library Science from an ALA-accredited institution and excellent communication and interpersonal skills. They will also have the ability to work independently and as part of a team, and to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.
Work EnvironmentThe work environment is typical of an office or administrative setting, with moderate noise levels and a focus on providing excellent customer service.
