About the Role

Burns & McDonnell is seeking a highly skilled Staff Roadway Engineer to join our Transportation Practice in our Omaha, Nebraska and Kansas City offices.

This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and detail-oriented individual to work on a variety of engineering projects, including municipal roadway design, multi-lane expressway, and interstate projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work with a multi-discipline team of engineers and technicians to design and analyze transportation projects
  • Collaborate with contractors and construction staff on design/build projects
  • Research design alternatives and provide findings to Senior Project Engineers
  • Responsible for accuracy of engineering design and plan production
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending workshops and reviewing professional journals/publications
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in an engineering field, preferably in civil or with an emphasis in transportation engineering
  • Minimum of 3 years related experience in a variety of engineering projects
  • Master of Science degree in Civil Engineering may be substituted for 1-year experience
  • Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) or on track and planning to take the PE exam
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Strong computer skills in the Microsoft Office package of software
  • Ability to perform under pressure and tight deadlines while working on multiple projects concurrently
