Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Bookkeeper to join our team at Great Lakes Accounting LLP in Hobart, Indiana. The successful candidate will have a strong background in accounting and QuickBooks, with excellent data entry skills and attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Data entry into QuickBooks, including financial transactions, accounts payable, and accounts receivable
  • Reconciling bank accounts and performing account reconciliations
  • Assisting clients with QuickBooks questions and providing training as needed
  • Tax remittances and filings, including FICA, sales tax, withholding, and 1099s
  • Preparing reports, letters, memos, and basic spreadsheets
  • Assisting with other analytical or accounting duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • 1+ years of experience working as a bookkeeper
  • Experience with QuickBooks (must have)
  • High school graduate with courses in bookkeeping preferred
  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment

Compensation:

The salary for this position is estimated to be around $45,000-$60,000 per year, depending on experience. In addition to a competitive salary, we offer paid vacation, paid holidays, and sick days after the probationary period.
