Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Tool and Die Maker to join our team at Burgess Norton Mfg Co. As a key member of our manufacturing department, you will be responsible for fabricating and repairing tools, fixtures, and machine parts using precision equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Read and follow written work instructions to ensure accurate and efficient production.
  • Interpret complex tool drawings to manufacture high-quality products.
  • Fabricate and repair tools, fixtures, and machine parts using lathes, mills, grinders, and other precision equipment.
  • Manufacture products that meet customer requirements and maintain a high level of quality.
  • Set up and operate machine tools such as lathes, standard and CNC mills, EDMs, grinders, hones, saws, and CAD/CAM systems.
  • Maintain a continuous material flow throughout the tool and die process.
  • Design and fabricate simple or complex jigs and fixtures.
  • Make decisions using math, charts, tables, formulas, and knowledge of machining techniques and methods.

Requirements:

  • Maintain a "Safety First" mentality while working and keep the work area neat and orderly.
  • Ability to proficiently use precise measuring equipment and gauges and work to extremely close tolerances.
  • Ability to work with little direct supervision.
  • Ability to sit or stand for long periods of time.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. and capable of moving up to 80 lbs. with or without accommodation.
