About the Role

Total Aerospace Services is seeking a highly skilled Maintenance Manager to join our team in Chicago, IL. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and directing aircraft maintenance at a line station to ensure cost-effective and reliable operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage a team of mechanics to ensure compliance with 14 CFR, manufacturers' specifications, and company policies.
  • Develop and implement effective schedules to meet operational demands, utilizing manpower and resources efficiently.
  • Monitor work-in-progress, prioritize tasks, and ensure proper staffing levels.
  • Develop innovative solutions to improve maintenance processes and ensure the maintenance base has adequate materials and equipment.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA and safety guidelines, and provide safety training to mechanics.
  • Coordinate with human resources and vendors to ensure timely and accurate information on aircraft status.
  • Oversee the maintenance base, including building maintenance, uniform, and janitorial services.
  • Foster a positive work environment and promote the company's core values and culture.
  • Screen, interview, and make recommendations for hiring potential employees, and provide leadership, direction, and motivation to direct reports.
  • Appraise performance, provide feedback, and oversee training and development of staff.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent with an FAA Airframe and Powerplant license.
  • 6 years of A&P experience on similar aircraft, with at least two years in a supervisory or lead position.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, especially Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, associates, and the general public.
