As a member of our team, you will work collaboratively with therapy staff to provide high-quality care to patients recovering from various conditions, including trauma, cardiac issues, stroke, neurological disorders, and brain and spinal cord injuries.
Key Responsibilities- Provide patient-centered care, demonstrating empathy and effective communication with patients, families, physicians, and colleagues.
- Set priorities and modify patient care in response to changing situations, utilizing problem-solving skills and good judgment.
- Perform prescribed treatments, evaluate patient signs and symptoms, and record patient reactions to medication, I.V. therapy, blood transfusions, and other treatments.
- Coordinate patient admission and discharge plans with case managers, patients, and families, maintaining a written plan of nursing care or critical pathways and communicating clinical outcomes and needed education to patients and/or families.
- Participate in the orientation of new personnel, attend weekly team meetings, and identify or assume activities relative to the developmental needs of the unit and the nursing department.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support certification required.
- Graduation from an accredited school of Registered Nursing required (Associate's degree).
- Current State of Indiana Registered Nurse license and active Compact State RN license required.
- 1 year of nursing experience preferred.
