Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Lifeguard - Emergency Response Specialist to join our team at The California State University. As a Student Assistant, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and well-being of our students, faculty, and staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Respond to emergency situations and provide lifesaving, first aid, and CPR as needed.
  • Execute rescues of individuals in distress, utilizing effective emergency response protocols.
  • Communicate and enforce campus regulations, operations, programs, and pool rules in a professional manner.
  • Assist Faculty Instructors with pool equipment maintenance and upkeep.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Requirements
  • Prior experience as a paid lifeguard is preferred.
  • Availability to work on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 1:00pm - 3:15pm is required.
  • Lifeguard Certification and CPR/First Aid are mandatory.
  • Undergraduate students must be registered/enrolled in a minimum of six (6) Fall/Spring units.
  • Post-baccalaureate students in a graduate program must be registered in a minimum of four (4) Fall/Spring units.
Working Conditions

This position requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, respond to emergency situations, and maintain a high level of physical fitness.

Salary and Benefits

The salary range for this position is $17.00 - $18.50 per hour, depending on qualifications.
