ATLANTICARE- ROLE DESCRIPTION
TITLE: Surgery Center Perioperative Registered Nurse Pre-op/PACU
POSITION SUMMARY
The Perioperative Nurse plays a crucial role in delivering outstanding patient care and supporting families throughout the surgical journey. This role involves assisting healthcare professionals by providing necessary equipment, supplies, and support in both the Pre-Operative and Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU).
This position aligns with organizational objectives by ensuring high-quality customer service, engaging in performance enhancement initiatives, and demonstrating a strong commitment to teamwork and collaboration.
QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION: Must be a graduate of an accredited nursing program; a Bachelor's degree in nursing is preferred. Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of New Jersey is mandatory. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required. Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification is necessary based on specialty. Effective communication skills and adaptability to changes in daily activities are essential. Previous experience in an Ambulatory Surgery Center is preferred.
EXPERIENCE: Familiarity with Clinical Applications is preferred at the time of hiring; individuals in this role will receive appropriate training, and proficiency will be expected within 30-60 days of employment.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
This role involves potential exposure to the risks associated with a hospital setting, including bloodborne pathogens, infectious diseases, hazardous materials, and the possibility of injury. The work environment is typically busy and noisy, with frequent interruptions that necessitate reassessment of priorities. The position requires prolonged periods of standing, occasional lifting of up to 20 pounds, and the ability to move quickly over short distances.
