Job Summary:

As a key member of the United Future team, the Production Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing the performance of designated production lines in the Fabrication Department. The successful candidate will be expected to drive increasing levels of customer and employee satisfaction while improving the efficiency of manpower and yields.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Leadership and Team Management: Provide effective leadership to employees through coaching, training, and development, ensuring a positive and productive work environment.
  • Departmental Leadership: Act as a member of the departmental leadership team, performing duties as directed by the Fabrication Superintendent and/or Manager.
  • Employee Performance Management: Manage employee performance through training, development, and discipline, ensuring that employees are equipped to meet the demands of the production line.
  • Workflow Management: Facilitate workflow management and employee placement to ensure the production line's goals are successfully met or exceeded.
  • Process Improvement: Utilize problem-solving techniques, teamwork building strategies, process control, and continuous process improvement tools to meet or exceed the expectations of line performance.
  • Production Planning and Monitoring: Plan and monitor throughput and efficiencies for the line, taking timely improvement action to meet production quality and quantity.
  • Safety and Compliance: Implement and maintain safety standards as required by law and company policy, ensuring compliance with regulatory bodies including USDA, FDA, EPA, and OSHA.
  • Reporting and Record-Keeping: Maintain accurate records and reports, including daily production reports and efficiency reports.
Requirements:
  • Education and Experience: 1-2 years of direct supervisory experience and at least two years' experience in the meat industry with emphasis on fabrication or slaughter operations.
  • Knowledge and Skills: Good all-around knowledge of production operations and techniques, food safety, product yields, and USDA regulations; basic knowledge of OSHA regulations; proven facilitation and leadership skills; excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to walk, stand, bend, lift, and push/pull up to 50 pounds in a hot environment for 8-10+ hours/day.
