  • GENERAL OVERVIEW
    • The Healthcare Support Specialist plays a vital role in a medical environment, assisting with both administrative and clinical operations. This position operates under the guidance and ongoing oversight of a licensed healthcare professional (MD, NP, RN, LPN) while executing straightforward clinical tasks. Reports directly to departmental leadership.
  • KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
    • Ensures the safe and efficient delivery of basic clinical services under the supervision of a licensed healthcare provider.
    • Supplies relevant clinical and administrative information to enhance the patient visit experience.
    • Maintains a sterile and organized work environment.
    • Oversees the inventory of supplies, equipment, and instruments.
    • Assists with clerical duties as required.
    • Performs additional responsibilities as assigned.
  • CERTIFICATIONS AND/OR LICENSES
    • Preferred: Current registration/certification as a Medical Assistant, or equivalent military medical training with MA certification/registration.
    • Current CPR certification is mandatory.
  • EDUCATIONAL AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
    • Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program (MOA, MAA, MA).
    • One to two years of experience in a relevant healthcare setting is preferred.
    • Must provide documentation of a completed diploma (or equivalent) or academic transcript for roles involving complexity testing.
  • WORK ENVIRONMENT
    • Expected to operate in a patient care setting with limited exposure to environmental risks such as excessive noise, dust, or temperature extremes. There may be exposure to infectious diseases and moderately challenging working conditions due to the nature of patient care activities.
