Job Summary

Leidos is seeking a highly skilled Systems Engineer to join our team in Anchorage, Alaska. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in supporting the FAA Weather Camera Program.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive reviews and analyses of system development, including mission needs assessment, system design, site selections, planning, deployment, site troubleshooting, and verification of system performance.
  • Collaborate with Field Engineers to write and complete project documentation and overall project planning.
  • Develop high-level system and program documentation, including SOPs, technical manuals, engineering plans, and other relevant materials.
  • Understand and address environmental and logistical challenges associated with different sites across Alaska, Hawaii, and the Lower 48.
  • Work effectively with remote team members, providing timely and clear instructions, and demonstrating in-depth knowledge of system infrastructure.
  • Travel approximately 10-20% of the time to support project needs.
Requirements
  • 4 years of experience in Systems Engineering.
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or relevant experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Ability to perform problem-solving, demonstrate system thinking, and possess technical writing expertise.
  • Strong verbal and written technical communication skills, with the ability to liaise with government, vendors, and other stakeholders.
  • Experience with monitoring systems, particularly in Alaska remote technical and engineering environments.
  • Ability to obtain a Public Trust Security Clearance Suitability.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Willingness and ability to climb towers up to 60 feet.
  • Experience leading a team and project management expertise.
