The Department of Corrections Executive Leadership is seeking a highly skilled and bilingual Probation and Parole Agent to join our team in Wausau, WI. As a Probation and Parole Agent, you will be responsible for monitoring a caseload of individuals placed on court-ordered supervision, assessing and preparing case plans, and fostering law-abiding behavior and positive participation in the community.
Key Responsibilities- Monitor and manage a caseload of offenders on court-ordered supervision
- Assess and prepare case plans for offenders, including identifying needs and developing strategies for rehabilitation
- Foster law-abiding behavior and positive participation in the community through regular contact and outreach
- Prepare accurate and timely investigations, reports, and case records
- Perform community outreach and liaison activities, including working with community partners and stakeholders
- Education, training, and/or experience related to social work methods, criminal justice, victim services, cultural awareness, and effective oral and written communication skills
- Valid driver's license and meeting State of Wisconsin fleet requirements
- For Senior level, three or more years of experience in probation/parole placing correctional clients in detention, including arrest, custody, and transportation, as well as experience with case management and case planning, and applying evidence-based practices with persons
