Job Summary

VCU Health is seeking an experienced Anesthesia Support Supervisor to oversee the day-to-day operations of our Anesthesia Technicians. This role requires strong leadership and communication skills, as well as the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple priorities.

Responsibilities
  • Supervise and manage a team of Anesthesia Technicians
  • Oversee the preparation and maintenance of equipment and supplies
  • Ensure compliance with corporate policies and procedures
  • Develop and implement processes to improve efficiency and productivity
  • Collaborate with anesthesia providers to ensure seamless patient care
Requirements
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a medical support role in Anesthesia
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple priorities
  • Experience with conflict resolution and problem-solving
  • Current BLS certification
Preferred Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience as a Certified Anesthesia Technician (Cer. A.T.) or employed in a support role for an anesthesia department
  • Minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience
  • Conflict Resolution training
  • Bachelor's Degree in a health-related field
Working Conditions

This role requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, handle multiple priorities, and adapt to frequent change. The successful candidate will be able to prioritize activities of the staff while communicating with anesthesia providers regarding needs and expectations.

The Anesthesia Support Supervisor will be responsible for independently overseeing and managing the cleaning of all airway equipment and ensuring that logs are completed to maintain corporate compliance.

Job duties may include the handling, transportation, access to, and/or contact with medication and related supplies.
