We are seeking a highly skilled Physical Therapist to join our team at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) Kids First clinic in Springdale, Arkansas.
Job SummaryThe Physical Therapist will work as a member of an interdisciplinary team to provide evidence-based best practice evaluation and therapy techniques for children with special healthcare needs ranging in age from six weeks to five years.
Responsibilities- Provide gross motor assessment and treatment using evidence-based techniques in a naturalistic, developmentally appropriate manner.
- Evaluate children to determine muscle tone, reflexes, strength, balance, range of motion, locomotion delays/disorders, and/or potential orthopedic concerns using appropriate diagnostic instruments.
- Develop and implement direct therapy for children based on findings using evidence-based techniques.
- Continually monitor progress and make modifications to treatment plans as needed.
- Document services provided in a professional, timely manner and prepare and provide billing documents according to KIDS FIRST and Medicaid guidelines.
- Collaborate and communicate with families, other therapists, nurses, social workers, director, developmental staff, and contractors to provide the best quality of care and optimal outcomes for each child.
- Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy if graduated prior to 2002 OR Master's degree in Physical Therapy if graduated prior to 2016 OR Doctorate degree in Physical Therapy.
- Two years experience in Physical Therapy preferred.
- Current Arkansas Physical Therapy License or eligible to obtain license within 1 month of date of hire.
- Intermediate computer skills.
