Lake County Government is seeking a highly skilled GIS Data Analyst and Cartographer to join our team. As a key member of our Community Planning & Development department, you will play a vital role in maintaining and updating our GIS maps and data.
Estimated Salary: $42,000-$46,000 annually.
About the Role
- Maintain and update GIS maps and data to ensure critical access to information for planning, water, sanitation, streets and roads, land use, land ownership, and natural resources.
- Create and document GIS processes and procedures.
- Analyze and digitize historic documentation and maps as necessary.
- Develop and maintain GIS databases, perform data creation, and cartography using ArcGIX.
- Process, analyze, and catalog recorded plats and surveys; use georeferencing and other spatial tools to update and improve the accuracy of County GIS data.
- Collaborate with external agencies and departments on special projects, report preparations, and GIS presentations.
- Receive direction from Community Planning & Development leadership to pursue organizational priorities and goals.
- Create maps and mapping tools to help staff and the public interpret and visualize spatial data.
- Maintain current knowledge of trends and developments in the geographic information systems field for application to responsibilities under charge.
About You
- A Bachelor's degree in Geography, Geographic Information Systems, or a related field with a specialty in GIS.
- Minimum of 1-3 years' experience working in a related field.
- Already have or can obtain a drone license.
- Travel to conferences or events within and outside of Colorado may be required.
- Proficiency in English, and Spanish preferred.
