POSITION SUMMARY:
Under the supervision of the Administrative Director of Revenue Cycle, the Senior Utilization Management Nurse Coordinator is responsible for overseeing compliance with the hospital's utilization review strategy. This role ensures the optimal and effective utilization of hospital resources while assessing the appropriateness of patient admissions and prolonged hospital stays.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must hold a valid RN license in the State of California.
- BLS certification is required prior to engaging in direct patient care.
- A minimum of 4 years of nursing experience in an Acute Care environment.
- Proficient in reading and interpreting various documents, including safety protocols, operational guidelines, and procedural manuals.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing or active enrollment in a BSN program within 30 days of employment, with completion expected within 24 months of hire.
- At least 4 years of experience as an RN Case Manager.
- Competent in writing standard reports and correspondence as necessary, with strong skills in both written and verbal communication.
