Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Physical Therapist Assistant to join our team at Poway Healthcare Center. As a Physical Therapist Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and supporting our Physical Therapy team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Treat patients as directed by the Physical Therapist, ensuring accurate and effective treatment plans.
  • Record daily treatment notes and weekly progress notes, adhering to PT Board standards.
  • Assist in maintaining a clean and organized treatment area, promoting a safe and efficient work environment.
  • Participate in Patient Care and Rehabilitation Conferences, as needed, to ensure comprehensive patient care.
  • Communicate effectively with the supervisor and other healthcare team members regarding patient progress, problems, and plans.
  • Participate in in-service training programs for other staff members, promoting knowledge sharing and best practices.
  • Report any equipment issues to ensure timely maintenance and minimize downtime.
  • Provide education and training to patients' families or nursing staff on maintenance programs and caregiver training, preparing them for discharge from therapy services.
Requirements
  • Licensed as a Physical Therapy Assistant by the State Board.
  • Proficient in computer skills, including data input into programs such as Casamba and Point Click Care.
  • Ability to read technical procedures, policy and procedure manuals, and effectively present information to various audiences.
  • Mathematical skills, including the application of concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
  • Reasoning ability, including the ability to solve practical problems and interpret instructions in various formats.
Physical Demands

The Physical Therapist Assistant role requires standing and/or walking very frequently, sitting occasionally, and performing tasks that involve reaching, pushing/pulling, talking, and hearing frequently. The position also requires the ability to exert in excess of 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or excess of 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or excess of 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

Climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling may be required occasionally. The work environment is typically low to moderate noise level, and reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of the job.
