We are seeking a highly skilled Dietitian to join our team at Contra Costa County Health Services Department. As a Dietitian, you will play a critical role in providing nutrition education to individuals and groups, planning, implementing, and evaluating a nutritional care program for hospital and health center patients.
Key Responsibilities:- Compile relevant information from appropriate sources to make nutritional assessments of high-risk patients.
- Observe and interview patients and family members for nutritional information.
- Develop and implement plans for the provision of optimal nutrition care.
- Develop educational materials and provide nutrition education and consultation to individuals and groups.
- Identify and prioritize patients requiring nutrition intervention.
- Develop menu patterns for individuals in accordance with physicians' orders.
- Monitor and record data in the nutrition care plan and charts the nutritional progress of individuals.
- Participate in interdisciplinary nutrition support rounds.
- Update and participate in the development of nutrition policies and procedures.
- Provide in-service reviews on a quarterly basis to maintain quality assurance.
- Provide in-service training to Nutritional Services staff and other healthcare team members.
- Participate in orienting resident physicians to the role of nutrition in patient care.
- Assign nutrition care-related tasks to appropriate personnel and coordinate the performance of these tasks.
- Continuously evaluate the effectiveness of clinical nutrition care services.
- Conduct special studies and projects as assigned.
- Certification: Current Certificate of Registration with the Commission on Dietetic Registration, the credentialing for the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.
- OR
- Successful completion of an Accredited Dietetic Internship Program; AND Proof of acceptance for admission to the next scheduled examination for Registered Dietitian by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.
The selection process will consist of an evaluation of each candidate's relevant education, training, and/or experience as presented on the application and supplemental questionnaire. Candidates must receive a score of at least 70, which may be an adjusted score, in order to be ranked on the employment list.
