Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Maintenance Specialist to join our team at the City of Moline. As a key member of our facilities maintenance team, you will be responsible for performing manual, semi-skilled, and skilled work in the repair and maintenance of city buildings and mechanical systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate and maintain a variety of equipment, including loaders, backhoes, scissor lifts, and mini-excavators.
  • Coordinate and assist with work assignments for laborers and other maintenance staff.
  • Inspect and repair mechanical equipment and systems, including electrical, plumbing, heating, and cooling systems.
  • Develop and implement preventative maintenance schedules for city buildings and equipment.
  • Train and instruct assigned employees on proper equipment operation and repair techniques.
  • Perform other duties as assigned, including snow removal, street patching, and storm sewer maintenance.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; two years of experience in skilled or semi-skilled building, mechanical, and grounds maintenance preferred.
  • Valid Illinois Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL-B) with air brake endorsement required.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team; excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to lift and move up to 100 pounds; work in a fast-paced environment with varying weather conditions.
