Position Overview:

Diamond Personnel is in search of a skilled Patent Agent with a strong foundation in chemical sciences. This role offers a flexible work arrangement, allowing for either a hybrid schedule or fully remote work.

Work Schedule: Hybrid 3/2 or Remote

Billable Hours: 1,750 (Flexible arrangements for reduced billable hours are available)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and prosecute patent applications before the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).
  • Evaluate scientific and technical documents, including prior patent publications, to determine the viability of inventions or existing patents.
  • Compose comprehensive descriptions of inventions in precise legal language, which serve as the foundation for patent approvals across various jurisdictions.
  • Engage in discussions with USPTO examiners.
  • Stay informed on the latest legal trends and changes in the intellectual property sector.
  • Collaborate closely with legal professionals to assist in patent litigation, conduct due diligence, and support other legal functions.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 1 year of experience in patent prosecution.
  • A Bachelor's or advanced degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related discipline.
  • Experience in the battery technology sector, particularly in battery chemistry or lithium-ion batteries, is advantageous.
  • Must be registered to practice before the USPTO.
