Job Summary

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide professional nursing care to patients in a clinic setting, including administering treatments and medications as prescribed by providers.
  • Assist with the preparation of equipment and aid providers during treatment, examination, and testing of patients.
  • Observe, record, and report patients' condition and reaction to drugs or treatments to providers.
  • Oversee appointment bookings and ensure timely flow of patients.
  • Greets patients, obtains well-documented history and vitals, and prepares patients for physical exam.
  • May perform various tasks, including vital sign collection, initial patient assessment, and coordination of patient transfer to hospital or discharge.
  • May administer medications, including IV push medications, and perform tasks such as blood collection, pulse oximetry, and incentive spirometry.
  • May make arrangements for patient testing and admissions.
  • Responds to incoming telephone calls and calls in refills and prescriptions to pharmacy as per provider instructions.
  • Documents patient care plans, orders, and prepares patient charts, and posts test results.
  • Maintains patient files, records, and other information in a professional manner following policies and procedures regarding documentation.
  • Ensures preparation of exam rooms, including re-stocking of treatment areas.
  • Attends required meetings and participates in committees as requested.
  • Participates in professional development activities and maintains professional licensure and affiliations.
  • Fulfills HIPAA guidelines and maintains strict confidentiality.
  • Communicates effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
Requirements
  • Graduate from an accredited school of practical nursing or vocational nursing.
  • Valid state license to practice nursing.
  • Current BLS certification through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross.
