Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Surgical Technologist to join our team at University Hospitals. As a key member of our perioperative team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient delivery of surgical care to our patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide safe and efficient age-specific nursing care to patients and families using nursing interventions to assist them in achieving optimal health.
  • Assist with technical responsibilities in assigned operative procedures and serve as a resource in an area of expertise.
  • Ensure appropriate instruments and supplies are present and in proper working condition, and demonstrate ability to operate service-specific equipment.
  • Provide labeled medications with correct doses on the sterile field and adhere to patient safety protocols.
  • Participate in the quality improvement process and contribute to the development of policies and procedures.
Requirements
  • Graduation from an accredited Surgical Technology program.
  • Certification as a Surgical Technologist.
  • Thorough knowledge of asepsis, instrumentation, suture, and surgical procedures.
  • Leadership skills and ability to provide guidance and training to others.
  • Ability to use a wide variety of technical equipment to meet patient care needs and prescribed medical therapies.
Working Conditions

This position requires frequent standing, walking, and lifting of up to 50 pounds. The ability to work in a fast-paced environment and maintain a high level of concentration and attention to detail is essential.
