Job Opportunity:

We are seeking a highly skilled Histology Technologist to join our team in Reno, Nevada. As a key member of our histopathology department, you will play a crucial role in preparing and processing tissue samples for diagnostic purposes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Process and prepare fixed and unfixed tissue and cytology specimens using advanced histologic techniques, including histologic, frozen sectioning, immunohistochemical, and in situ hybridization methods.
  • Teach and instruct other laboratory staff in these techniques, ensuring seamless knowledge transfer and expertise development.
  • Supervise and train new staff or students as needed, providing guidance on techniques, project work, and performance management.
  • Prepare microscopic slides for diagnostic processing, embedding, microtomy, mounting, staining, and slide labeling.
  • Perform special staining techniques for interstitial elements of tissue sections, including micro-organisms and cellular components, to aid in complex diagnosis and prognostic markers.
  • Contribute to corporate strategy for regulatory approvals, ensuring compliance with CAP, FDA, and other relevant standards.
  • Assess the quality of slide preparations and troubleshoot procedures as needed.
  • Prepare control slides and validate technical procedures in collaboration with the laboratory director.
Requirements:
  • Associate's Degree in Science or higher.
  • ASCP (HT or HTL) certification or eligibility to obtain.
  • Experience is preferred but not required.
