Job Title: Service Technician

WP is seeking a skilled Service Technician to assist shop technicians in the repair and overhaul of industrial natural gas engines. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our equipment.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Assist shop technicians in the repair and overhaul of industrial natural gas engines
  • Perform shop cleanup and maintain a clean, safe work environment
  • Work well with colleagues and maintain good client relations
  • Assist in the repair of shop and/or field work
  • Complete service reports, timecards, and other paperwork in a legible, understandable manner
  • Assist Class A, B, and Journeyman Mechanics as required and observe closely to gain additional knowledge
  • Take advantage of service schools and training programs offered by the company
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Must have a GED, High School Diploma, trade school, or special service training
  • Technical background or related experience in engine maintenance and repair preferred
  • Must have a working knowledge of the position and its relation to the overall business and its objectives
  • Must meet goals and objectives set forth by the company
  • Must conform to company policies and procedures
  • Must have a current driver's license and acceptable driving record per WPI insurance carrier standard if driving a company vehicle
  • Must be able to pass and maintain drug and alcohol testing requirements as outlined by the Department of Transportation
  • Must be computer literate, with a preference for a Windows-based environment (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook)
Working Conditions:

Typical hours of work are Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Weekend hours and outside work may be required. WP is an Equal Opportunity Employer/Protected Veterans/Individuals with Disabilities.
