Key Responsibilities:
- Operate Horizontal Directional Drill for the installation of underground telecommunications conduits, including fiber optic cables.
- Utilize diesel or gasoline-powered equipment to transport materials to and from job sites.
- Identify and locate existing buried wiring and cabling.
- Install underground telecommunications cabling efficiently and safely.
- Conduct flagging duties to ensure safe coordination of vehicles and equipment in active work zones.
- Restore properties or worksites post-installation.
- Inspect equipment and oversee work quality and compliance with specifications.
- Engage in general construction tasks, including physical labor and the use of hand tools.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies while performing duties.
- Execute additional tasks as required.
Candidate Profile:
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Authorized to work in the United States.
- Previous experience in the Telecommunications or Utility Construction/Maintenance sector is preferred.
- Valid CDL is required.
- A minimum of one year of experience in Utility Construction/Maintenance is necessary.
- Ability to operate various utility trucks and equipment safely.
- Proficient in reading blueprints and interpreting utility maps.
- Strong communication skills to interact effectively with customers and team members.
- Physical capability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs regularly, and up to 75 lbs as needed.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including overtime and weekends, as required.
