About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Pediatric Intensive Care Unit Registered Nurse to join our team at Huntsville Hospital Health System. As a PICU RN, you will provide critical care to children and adolescents with life-threatening or high-acuity conditions, requiring constant monitoring and attention.

Responsibilities
  • Assess patient needs and priorities for care through detailed evaluation of children with respiratory, cardiac, gastrointestinal, genitourinary, orthopedic, endocrine, and neurologic dysfunction.
  • Plan and deliver safe, age-appropriate care under critical situations, including titration of drips, multiple technical procedures, and use of various equipment for acute care.
  • Evaluate patient response to care and attainment of or progress toward expected outcomes.
  • Accountable for outcomes of patient care delivered during assigned shifts, striving to provide clinical and service excellence.
Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Graduate of a state board-approved School of Nursing with current Alabama or multi-state licensure.
  • PICU experience preferred; new graduates accepted.
  • BLS required before the conclusion of the orientation period.
  • ACLS within one year of hire.
