Salary Range: $24.00 Hourly
DescriptionCompany Conformance Statements:
- Perform quality work within deadlines with or without direct supervision.
- Interact professionally with other employees, customers, and suppliers.
- Work effectively as a team contributor on all assignments.
- Work independently while understanding the necessity for communicating and coordinating work efforts with other employees.
- Escort patients to and from exam rooms, assist patients in preparing for exams.
- Enter medical histories and prescriptions into the Electronic Medical Record (EMR).
- Assist physicians during exams and procedures.
- Perform extractions, injections, and other patient procedures.
- Collect path and lab specimens, notify patients of results, and schedule follow-up appointments.
- Educate patients and respond to patient questions in the office or on the phone as needed.
- Document all medical instructions given to patients.
- Organize exam rooms, prepare procedure trays, clean and autoclave instruments, and stock supplies.
- Experience:
- Minimum two years' experience in a doctor's office.
- Prior dermatology experience preferred.
- Education:
- Certification preferred (i.e., Certified Medical Assistant, Certified Dermatology Technician, etc.).
- Other Requirements:
- None.
- Quality written and verbal communication skills.
- Professional in appearance and mannerisms.
- Knowledgeable of medical dermatology terms, CPT, and ICD-10.
- Able to demonstrate compassion and caring in dealing with others, patients, and coworkers alike.
- Able to prioritize tasks, understand the provider's instructions, and know when to seek information or advice.
Position is in a well-lighted medical office environment. Occasional evening and weekend work.
Physical RequirementsMust possess the manual dexterity to operate office machines, including computers and calculators; stooping, bending to handle files and supplies; and mobility to complete errands or deliveries.
Includes handling of sharps and chemicals. Stress can be triggered by multiple staff demands and deadlines.
