Job Overview

This position involves a hybrid work arrangement, requiring on-site presence for three days a week. The role is centered around providing estimating support within a dynamic team environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and coordinate comprehensive estimates for multi-discipline projects related to major capital construction and maintenance initiatives.
  • Assess labor, materials, and time requirements by analyzing proposals, blueprints, specifications, and other relevant documentation.
  • Ensure all estimates comprehensively address risks, markups, and assumptions.
  • Delegate and manage estimate deliverables to external architectural and engineering firms based on their capacity and expertise.
  • Conduct weekly progress meetings with estimating teams to guarantee timely completion of project deliverables.
  • Review project data to confirm that adequate information is available for the requested estimate type.
  • Facilitate communication between third-party estimating teams and project teams to ensure clarity and sufficiency of information.
  • Analyze estimates produced by external firms to ensure adherence to quality and accuracy standards as per industry benchmarks.
  • Coordinate with relevant departments to ensure compliance with contract terms regarding outsourced estimating tasks.
  • Maintain a comprehensive database of external estimates and associated quality metrics.

Required Skills:

  • Proficient in Sage Estimating software.
  • Strong collaborative skills to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Willingness to travel for site familiarization as necessary.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of two years of experience in a utility-related estimating role is required.
  • An engineering degree is preferred.
  • Certification as a Certified Estimating Professional (CEP) is advantageous.
