Job Title: Correctional Facility Nurse Professional

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our team at the Lexington County Jail. As a Correctional Facility Nurse Professional, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care to our inmates.

About the Job

This is a full-time position that requires a strong commitment to providing excellent patient care in a correctional setting. The successful candidate will have a deep understanding of nursing principles and practices, as well as experience working with patients who have complex medical needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess and evaluate the physical, psychological, and social dimensions of patients in the Health Care Unit and housing units.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans in consultation with Charge Nurses, DONs, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Administer medications, perform diagnostic tests, and provide patient education on proper self-care techniques.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care and develop effective treatment plans.
  • Document patient encounters using standardized charting methods.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you must possess:

  • A current RN license in the state of employment.
  • A minimum of one year of clinical experience in a correctional or similar setting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
