Job Summary:

The Arizona Community Protection and Treatment Center (ACPTC) is seeking a highly skilled Psychologist to join our team. As a Psychologist, you will be responsible for providing court-mandated individual and group therapy for adult male sexual offenders determined to be Sexually Violent Persons (SVPs).

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide psychological treatment and counseling to individuals and groups, conducting psychological evaluations and risk assessments, developing and implementing resident programs, and documenting treatment activities.
  • Create and implement individualized treatment plans, evaluating and documenting consultation regarding residents who exhibit signs of or verbalize intent to harm themselves or others.
  • Supervise predoctoral psychology interns and students, participating in clinical treatment planning for residents and developing individualized treatment plans for ACPTC residents.
  • Participate in/facilitate treatment staffings, providing clinical oversight in the absence of the Clinical Director, and developing and maintaining psychological program resident files, including treatment plans, progress notes, reports, and case summaries.
  • Conduct and review research in areas of mental health, sex offender treatment, recidivism, psychology, and special needs of the resident population, presenting case study reviews to members of the psychology staff and working with professionals from outside agencies in joint treatment efforts as needed.
  • Promote cooperation and dialogue with facility departments/staff through committee meetings, staffings, special activities, and consultation, participating in professional development activities, including in-service training to program staff, and developing, implementing, and evaluating training.
  • Provide supervision and clinical oversight to doctoral-level interns, practicum students, and master's-level clinicians who are working towards advanced licensure (LPC), and provide administrative assistance by reviewing treatment plans and progress notes for quality, accuracy, and compliance.
  • Other duties as assigned related to the position.
Requirements:
  • Doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology
  • Licensed as a Psychologist in the State of Arizona or license eligible and receive license from the Board of Psychologist Examiners within one year of appointment.
  • A State Hospital employee must be able to obtain a valid Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card pursuant to A.R.S. ·
  • Driving is required for State Business, and employees who drive on state business require possession of and the ability to retain a current, valid state-issued driver's license appropriate to the assignment.
  • All newly hired State employees are subject to and must successfully complete the Electronic Employment Eligibility Verification Program (E-Verify).
