About the Position

Smith College is seeking a qualified individual to lead an after school program for students in Kindergarten through sixth grade. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and implementing a fun and engaging program, supervising and managing students, and promoting student success and satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and implement a daily schedule/routine for the after school program
  • Supervise and manage students, ensuring their safety and well-being
  • Utilize positive behavioral management techniques to support students
  • Collaborate with teachers and other program staff to achieve program goals
  • Manage program supplies and equipment, and maintain program spaces

Requirements:

  • Experience leading elementary students in a group setting
  • Associate's Degree in education or related field, or prior experience teaching specialty area to elementary aged students
  • Ability to form positive and supportive relationships with children and adults
  • Ability to be flexible and work as a member of a team

Working Conditions:

The after school program will be held on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays from 2:30-5:00 p.m. The Wednesday Program Lead Instructors will work from 12:00-5:00 p.m.

Compensation:

The hourly pay rate for this position is $17-$22, depending on education and experience.

Additional Information:

Smith College requires all employees to be vaccinated against COVID-19 as a condition of employment. Proof of vaccination status will be required. Individuals may seek medical or religious exemption with HR, but must do so prior to their arrival.
