Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Transit Systems Consultant to join our North American Infrastructure group. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in transit systems, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work well in a team environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work onsite in a lab environment as needed
  • Create, modify, and review design documents and technical specifications
  • Prepare technical briefs, presentations, and reports that identify work progress, defects/non-conformances, and areas of concern
  • Direct collaboration with vendors as a representative of the client
  • Have a general understanding of contractual language and obligations
  • Review and approve vendor submittals
  • Review training and manuals and maintenance procedures
  • Participate in and lead technical working sessions to address issues raised by clients
  • Inspect and review prototype and first article equipment and prepare detailed descriptions of review findings
  • Basic understanding of implementing a test plan and procedure
  • Assist in test and commissioning Transit system equipment and software
  • Ability to work independently under the direction of a senior staff
  • Participate in quality assurance and manufacturing audits
  • Monitor system performance and adherence to KPIs and SLAs
  • Assist with the conduct of forensic investigations of failed components and equipment and reporting findings under the direction of senior staff
  • Provide technical support to other team members as required
  • Participate in local and national professional organizations

Requirements

  • A Bachelor's degree in Business or Engineering or related field
  • One or more years of progressive experience
  • Ability to give direction to other staff as needed, supervise workgroups
  • Experience in the transportation industry
  • Basic knowledge of Transit systems such as fare payment technologies, GIS, GPS location, CAD/AVL, Mobity as a Service (MaaS), wayfinding, GTFS and open data standards
  • Excellent analytical, written, and oral communication skills
  • Basic understanding of SQL Database and ability to perform basic database query
  • Demonstrate strong organizational skills, work well within a team, self-starter, take direction from other senior staff members, be able to multi-task on a variety of work assignments, and meet deadlines
  • Flexibility to travel to various client sites as needed
