Job Summary

The Maintenance Technician will report to the Maintenance Supervisor and be responsible for assisting with the installation, maintenance, and repair of water treatment plants, wastewater treatment plants, and lift stations. This role requires strong organizational skills, hands-on maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting skills, as well as the ability to examine objects, systems, or facilities and analyze information to determine needed installations, services, or repairs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintenance of water and wastewater facilities, including pull, repair, and analysis of mechanical equipment.
  • Assist in the installation of new utility system improvements and other water and wastewater utility-related projects.
  • Perform physical requirements of the position, work within established working conditions, and respond to emergency calls as designated.
  • Work a flexible schedule, which may include evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Perform a variety of related work, as required.
Requirements
  • Knowledge of lift stations, mechanical equipment, and standard construction materials used in water and wastewater facilities and systems.
  • Mechanical knowledge of machines and tools.
  • Knowledge of public safety and security issues and regulations.
  • Bilingual abilities are a plus.
  • Strong understanding and expression of written and verbal English sentences and paragraphs in work-related documents.
